Ground-based GPS VTEC constrained inversion method for ionospheric occultation

摘要: 本文在分析GPS电离层掩星Abel积分变换反演的基础上,介绍了一种顾及电离层水平梯度信息的反演新方法,即地基GPS VTEC约束的电离层掩星反演法,并将该方法应用于COSMIC低纬掩星观测资料的反演.初步的统计结果表明,与经典Abel变换反演相比,地基GPS VTEC约束反演的临界频率foF2更接近于电离层测高仪观测的结果.Abstract: This paper firstly analyzes the Abel transform inversion of GPS ionospheric occultation, and then introduces a new inversion method, which takes the horizontal gradient information of the ionosphere into account, called the ground-based GPS VTEC constrained inversion method for ionospheric occultation. Subsequently, this new method is applied in the inversion of COSMIC low-latitude occultation observations. The preliminary statistical results show that the retrieved critical frequency foF2 values using the ground-based GPS VTEC constrained inversion are closer to the ionosonde measurements than those using the classical Abel transform inversion.
